Totally at Jamie's expense

Most of you know Jamie pretty darn well, but what you may not know is that his life is a musical. Yep, everything has a song. Whether it's petting the dog, changing a poopy diaper, getting up in the middle of the night to pee - you name it. So of course tonight, when Jamie was getting Sean's jammies on, we (and by that make no mistake I mean Jamie) had to sing a song about Sean's lack of a rear (now if that's not the pot calling the kettle black!!!) Enjoy the show.

Oh to be this flexible

Lately, it's like Sean has discovered his feet all over again. He puts them up by his head when we are changing him, and I swear tickles his own feet! After he gnaws on his piggies of course! Oh to be this flexible!!!

Check out those molars!

Scooby's biggest fear

For those of you who have seen Sean's room, you know there is a "life size" giraffe that goes with his safari theme. What you may not know, is Scooby (also referred to with many other not-so-nice names) is deathly afraid of this stuffed animal. Now mind you, this is also the dog who is afraid of his own shadow and balloons, but also prefers ice cubes over dog treats. I'm telling you, he's not all there. Anyway, Sean has just starting really having fun with the giraffe, and we think it's great! Here are a couple of pictures of him hugging/playing/attacking/jumping on/climbing on and falling off of (with Daddy there to catch of course) his giraffe.

Here is a cute video of Sean "riding" the giraffe and falling right into Daddy!

Merry Christmas!

We hope you all had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did here in the Lance household. It was amazing for me to think back to Sean's first Christmas - he slept - through the whole thing! What do you expect at size weeks though, right! Last year he was crawling and really checking everything out, but I think he napped through present opening. This year, he's walking, starting to talk, and ALL OVER the place! Here are some pictures from our THIRD Christmas with our little man.

Update on Sean

We just received a call from Sean's doctor regarding the latest of his blood work. His growth hormone level went from a 22 to a 30 (the range is 45 - 222), so we are still a good amount below "normal", but we are heading in the right direction! She still wants us to go to St. Louis to meet with the specialist, but for the first time, I'm feeling a little bit of hope. That's a good change in just one month, so who knows what he'll keep doing! (Hopefully growing!!!) Our appointment is not until March, but at least we're on the schedule. I'll feel better once we go and meet with the doctor - at least then I'll have some answers to my MANY questions!

Anyway, that's all for now. Keep those prayers comin'... Wouldn't it be something if he didn't need the shots?!?!

It's a... BOY!!!

It's official, it's a BOY!!! And as you can see in one of the pictures below, there is NO question about it! Sean gave us the same "pose" at his sonogram too! Of course we are THRILLED beyond belief - if there is one thing our family knows, it's boys! :-) The best news is that everything looks great!

We got some wonderful shots thanks to the high risk sonogram machine. We were able to see (very clearly) both arms, both legs, ten fingers, ten toes, all four chambers of the heart, both sides of the brain, and one CUTE little baby boy wiggling around! His heartbeat was a strong 144, and he weighs 12 ounces. I am measuring 20 weeks 2 days, so about 6 days early. Just about right on track! I can't wait to go pick up Sean today and tell him he's having a baby brother!

Here are some of the pictures from our sonogram - what a cutie, huh!?!

Round 2 - Bloodwork

So today was the day that Sean had to go back for his growth hormone retest. His doctor was supposed to have the test called in and ready, but somewhere, something got screwed up. SO, getting there at 7:45 to get in and out did me not good. After an hour of waiting, I finally asked what the heck was going on. Of course I got the, “oh, you should be next” answer. You have got to be kidding me. First, I have a child – the attention span is not long. He was bored, tired, frustrated (and of course Mommy didn’t bring anything to entertain him because I have never had to wait in the morning to get the lab work done). FINALLY we got back there and the lady was an idiot.

Sean has had blood work done twice, both times have gone just fine. This lady was digging, and digging, and digging. I was about two seconds away from punching her lights out. I mean, come on. He’s a toddler, he’s screaming, you are hurting him (and of course my nerves were shot). Let someone else give it a try who knows what they are doing. The other phlebotomist finally got it in and it was okay after that. My poor baby. So now, we wait. Hopefully we’ll have the results back in the next week/week and a half, so keep your fingers crossed and prayers a comin’. I would LOVE to be able to call the Children’s Hospital back and tell them that we have to CANCEL because he’s okay!!!

The good news today, yes there was some… we popped in for a quick weight check for Sean. On November 13, he weighed 19.6 lbs. Today, he weighed an even 21!!!!! YEP! You read that right. You know what this means? We’re FINALLY legal with the car seat!!!!

Christmas Card

Friday, Elaine came over to do Sean's annual photo shoot for our Christmas card. As usual, there were SO many great pictures! I don't know if Sean's just that cute, or if Elaine is just that good, but it was so hard to choose! You'll see the final ones on our card, but here are some that are cute but didn't make the cut. I know, there are a lot (but they are good!) Enjoy!

Boys will be boys

One of Sean, I mean JAMIE'S favorite things to do is to build a fort with Sean in the spare bedroom. Well, tonight fort wasn't as awesome as some of his others, but Sean didn't seem to mind! He thinks it's pretty cool. Especially when you add the light saber as a post! Boys...

Sean and Frosty

So Sean has this obsession with Frosty the Snowman. For this, I blame Mom and Dad... they have this Sean size Frosty that sings and dances (all with the push of a button - lucky us!). I guess I shouldn't complain - it's a nice break from Mickey!!!Well, all we have is a snowman stuffed animal, but look out - if there is a snowman in sight (on the kitchen towel, in a snowglobe, on a placemat, in someone's yard) Sean will point it out. Needless to say, he is in LOVE with his stuffed snowman. He even shares his M-n-M's with him... what a thoughtful little boy! :-)

Happy Anniversary to us!

On December 4, Jamie and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary! For a special treat, we spent the evening over in Clinton, IL at the Sunset Inn and Suites. We said in the "Cabin Fever" room - it was SO neat! Elaine and I got Mom and Dad a room there for their anniversary, and they loved it too, so we had to check it out! I would highly recommend it for those wanting to do something fun, but not have to travel too far!
